GUIDANCE TO RETURNING TO FOOTBALL

The teams that are continuing have been fed in to FullTime and currently the Junior Section have been updated and scheduled and the Mini-Soccer section will be completed over the next few days.

Ahead of the return, the league have the following guidelines that we’d appreciate you adhering to:

  • These fixtures are Friendlies and as the name implies these are meant to get everyone back in to playing football and enjoy themselves. As such, the leagues competition rules do not need to be adhered to and the following changes apply:
    • Players do not need to be registered with a team, but please adhere to the SCORY rule with regarding to players ages in your team setup.
    • There will be no maximum number with regards to the number of substitutes that can be taken to fixtures.
    • If a team, at ANY age group, does not have the numbers to put out a full squad then their opposition may loan players to help out and do so in a sporting manner.
    • Try to ensure that matches are competitive, e.g., by substituting the strongest players if your team is winning easily.
  • Could we please request that all scores are still submitted to the league via the SMS messaging service, but there is no need to complete the STATS unless you wish to do so.
  • If a team is unable to fulfil a fixture due to pitch availability then they may arrange to switch venues with their opposition. Please try and give as much notice as possible and there is no need to notify the fixtures secretary of any changes made.
    • If the fixture cannot be rescheduled then notify the league and the fixture will be cancelled and the teams can try and sort an alternative fixture, or re-schedule the fixture themselves for later in the season.
  • If a team is unable to fulfill a fixture due to player / manager availability then please notify the fixtures secretary and your opposition and try and provide a minimum two weeks notice, this fixture will be cancelled.
  • Any team that has not taken up the leagues offer to arrange Friendlies may arrange their own friendlies adhering to the following:
    • Play other teams from the same age group or age group above
    • Respect the leagues scheduled fixtures and only approach teams that have not already had a fixture scheduled – odd numbered divisions will always have a team that won’t have a fixture
    • Ensure you have the authorisation from your Club
    • Notify the leagues fixtures secretary of any arranged fixtures
  • The maximum permissible playing time is stated in the league rules document, please visit the leagues website if you need to re-acquaint yourself with this https://cawjl.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/league-rules.pdf, contact details for the fixtures secretaries is also contained in this document
  • Adhere to the guidance notes as set out by the FA here: https://www.westridingfa.com/covid-19
  • If a team runs out of fixtures then teams may arrange Friendlies themselves and notify the fixtures secretary
  • Most importantly – Stay Safe, Have Fun AND Enjoy Yourselves!
